Who are Centurions?

Centurions RFC is a 90 year strong club that was initially made up of elite players who had played 100 representative games for Wellington. Over the last couple of decades (basically since professional rugby) the membership has widened to include those who have made a significant contribution to rugby in Wellington be it as a player, administrator, coach or volunteer. 

What we do

We give back to the rugby community by fundraising, coaching, mentoring and the like.

Our major fundraising partner is the NZ Rugby Foundation which provides outstanding assistance to players and families affected by serious rugby injuries. We give half of all our profits from our fundraising initiatives to this extremely worthy cause, the rest we use to fund the programmes and teams outlined below.

Working in with Wellington Rugby Union we provide volunteer coaching, management, operational assistance and funding for the Wellington B team (known as Wellington Centurions Development team) and Wellington Centurions Under 18 Men's & U18 Women's teams.

We also assist with funding and help run the Gareth Head rugby leadership and training clinics for U11-U13 kids held annually in February over 3-4 weekends. A completely free event to attend and  we have over 300 kids taking part. 2027 will see the clinic celebrate 25years! 

Auckland Barbarians, Northland Vikings, Waikato Harlequins , Hawkes Bay Saracens, Manawatu Evergreens, Canterbury Cantabrians are our brother/sister clubs throughout New Zealand that share our same kaupapa.
