Founded in 2002 the Gareth Head Leadership Clinics are for Under 11-13 rugby players in the Wellington region. Over 3,600 players have now attended these clinics that run for a 2 hour duration on the last two Sundays in February and first two Sundays in March each year.
Club nominations are based around players who are prepared to work hard, put in the extra effort when training or playing and show leadership potential. Over the years we have identified many players who with the benefit of additional coaching from these clinics have gained confidence in themselves and stepped up to become leaders within their club and college teams.
Organised by the glue of the clinics - Gus MacMillan and sponsored by Centurions RFC & PaknSave Petone.
The clinics are run by Fauono Ken Laban and his team of assistants, utilising some of our areas top rugby coaches and where possible coaching input from both past and present international players, including All Blacks, Black Ferns, Hurricanes and Wellington Representative players.
Free tee shirts, fruit, fun and always remembering our late founder Norm Hewitt’s gut buster fitness drill to finish.
